W.A.L.T: Connections to texts.
In Room 1 and 2 we have been focusing on the 2020 Olympics. As a class we watched the Swimming and Rugby Sevenths. We have a special connection to the athlete Emma Twigg because she is Rico's auntie. Today we had to find facts about the Olympics and put it in a google drawing
W.A.L.T: Understand Matariki.
In Room 2 we have been learning about Matariki and how it came together. We watched a video about the Sky Father Ranginui and Earth-mother Papatuanuku. It showed us how Matariki happened and what they did to separate them. I made a google slide about them!

W.A.L.T: Understand where Syria is.
In Room 2 we have been learning about refugees and Syria. We had to find a year 6 and make a google draw about where Syria is, find Syria on google maps and put a star on Damascus and Homs. Then we had to write a list about places near Syria.
W.A.L.T: Understanding the meaning of Forgiveness
The year 5 children have been learning about the meaning of forgiveness. We had to look at a bible to find versus to put into the squares.

In Room 2 we have been doing our reading slides. I had to make a google doc of a timeline for what happened to the Huia.
The Huia was a beautiful bird that was used for their feathers. The highlighted bits are an Adverb of time
