Prayer Reflection

 W.A.L.T Plan a prayer routine

In Room 2 we have been doing prayer routines. We were in groups of four. My group chose to pray for animals that have disabilities and are having rough times. My favourite part was making the slides and decorating everything with my group. When we showed our prayers I really liked reading out the bible story and doing the song.

The NZSO - Hot spot week 7

W.A.L.T Remember the events of watching the NZSO using thinking hats!
Today for our hot spot one of our activities was to make a slideshow about the NZSO. We went there on Week 6 and it was on Thursday. Here is my writing I did.

Facts

There was lots of different schools, teachers and we took the whole senior syndicate. We went there on Thursday and it was at the Town Hall.

They did loud, entertaining music and they had so many interesting instruments there.

They made the music by using instruments such as an oboe or a flute, you would have to blow into it or drums you would have to bang it with the drum sticks. We went there because a teacher called Ms Moore taught us music every Thursday and told us we were going to go to the Symphony Orchestra

Positives

I enjoyed the music and how everyone was seated. I liked the high notes and the low notes. I loved how every instrument played a part from Peter and the Wolf. My favourite would’ve been the cat that was played by the clarinet. I also liked the wolf and the bird. I liked how the music did not clash together, it was flowing together.

Creative

The instrument that made the most interesting sound was probably the french horns since they didn't sound what I thought they would sound like.  I would play the piano because first of all I am already practising it and doing lessons on piano and also because there is loads of notes and you can play all the song in the world on a piano

Emotion

I felt inspired and full of energy when I heard all the music together. I felt like my body was jumping around the place, I mostly felt happy because if I was not there, I would of not have felt what I felt when I was there.

Hot spot week 6 - Follow up task

W.A.L.T  Identify words we are unsure of

Today for my follow up task we had to find a word in our reading book that we are unsure of. Then we have to write a definition of what we think it is. Lastly, we had to find our what it means. My word was composition.

1.Word:  Compositions
I think it means a song that you play on a musical instrument because in the book it shows him near the piano and it also said he sat down and played one of his compositions.

Expert Definition/What it means:  A piece of music or note to be played on a musical instrument.

Inquiry - Learning about other animals

W.A.L.T make connections with how different animals adapted to their environment

. Today's inquiry was to pick an animal and use a template to show lots of different facts about it. I chose a parrot because I think that they are a really cool and unique bird and and they have lots of cool features like their colourful feathers.

Finishing my week 5 hots pot - Reflection

 W.A.L.T Reflect on our learning

Today I finished my hot spot. I am very happy I finished it because tomorrow is the due date of our hot spots. I think I did very well on my Billionaire boy poster and my follow up task. I have blogs of both of theses things if you want to check them out. Something I could've done better was spacing out my time for everything.

Newsletter hunt - Week 5 hot spot

 W.A.L.T Find information in texts

I had to do a lot of working and I had to find the answers to the questions. It was a bit hard but I did it

I am very proud of my poster and I think if you see it you would want to read the book. The book is really cool and you have to read it.

Thank you camp letter

W.A.L.T Show our appreciation in a written letter

We wrote an appreciation letter for one of the adults that was at camp. One of my memories from camp was doing the river crossing. It was so fun.

Dear Shelly,

Thank you for helping me throughout the camp. I really enjoyed being with you . I had so much fun hanging out with you and doing the hikes with you. I felt comfortable being in your group and going in your car.

Without you I wouldn’t have had the time that I had. I was very happy at camp and without you I would not enjoy being in the groups since you are one of the best leaders.

Thanks again!

Yours Sincerely,

Emilee.
